Children Learning Together
Red Class has children who are in Year Reception and so working at the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Mrs Martin the Class Teacher is an experienced EYFS practitioner and together with her team, helps children to settle into school quickly. Children learn best through play and learning opportunities which are based on their interests. We make the most of our outdoor grounds with regular Forest School sessions and lots of use of outdoor learning.
Children also become used to small focused teaching groups and whole class sessions and parents are often amazed at how well their children concentrate in school!
ChildrensworldUK Cressage is an independently run, full day nursery for 2, 3 and 4 year olds as well as and a breakfast, after school and holiday club for children from 4 years to 11 years which is on-site.
The day nursery is housed in its own stand-alone demountable building which is spacious and well-equipped. The building has its own secure entry system and its own dedicated outside play area.
Strong links have been made between Childrensworld UK and Christ Church CE Primary: the staff and teachers at CWUK and at school talk together regularly; Stay and play sessions – where pre-school children are invited to join the Reception class for the morning with parents and CWUK staff- take place weekly; CWUK children and staff are invited to productions and events. CWUK staff are invited to attend school staff training relevant to their role. Almost all the children who attend the pre-school choose to move on to Christ Church CE Primary School in their Reception school year. This “exemplary partnership” between Red Class and Childrensworld was commented on in Childrensworld’s ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted report (January 2017).
